Biography

Henry Green is a teacher and a consultant. Activities have includedBoard Member of CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield, consultations with leaders in real estate, renewable energy, infrastructure.

He was a member of the Maryland Legislative Compensation Commission, Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors serving as First Vice President.

He has long been active in community Service on committees to reduce crime, address housing needs, and for input on a future Annapolis City Dock configuration, worked on transition teams of Annapolis mayors, the public transportation study committee, and advised on the needs of the most vulnerable.

With the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Spa Creek Conservancy, he led a project to retain runoff from non-pervious surfaces, and worked with Anne Arundel County on an easement for runoff from Forest Drive.

He led an effort to restore the fiscal health of the Light House Shelter, and was a member of the Salt Street Foundation Board working Catholic Health Association of India following the tsunami of 2004.

He chaired the Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast funding local nonprofits and the Paul Harris Fellowship. He was awarded the Comptroller’s Golden Apple Award for leadership with local elementary schools on the “Backpack Buddies” in Annapolis.

He was a member of the Anne Arundel County Democratic Central Committee and chaired their Annual Dinner, and a member of Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast Committee in Anne Arundel County. He was a member of the Foundation Board for Anne Arundel County Public Library and their Diversity Advisory Board.
